Ekseption was a Dutch progressive rock ensemble with changing membership, active from 1967 to 1989, growing out of the bands The Jokers and Incrowd. The group started out playing jazz, pop and R&B covers, but, impressed by a gig of The Nice, Rick van der Linden decided to concentrate on producing classical rock, modern re-interpretations of classical works with bass, drums and horn charts. Most of their albums contain both original songs and re-interpreted classical pieces.
Van der Linden left the group in late 1973 to form Trace, during which time he was replaced by Dutch keyboardist Hans Jansen. Jansen took the band in a jazzier direction, with two LPs of mostly original compositions, but lackluster sales caused the band to break up in 1976. An offshoot band, named Spin, formed later that year and released two more albums, but success also eluded them. In 1978 Trace and Spin merged to become Ekseption once again.

Lyrics
On a Sunday they will kill the world
And on Monday they will cry and shout
Then on Tuesday they will just try out
What will happen to the burning crowd
And you hearing this song
You will smile, and think that I´m wrong
I´m a friend you killed in your mind
I´m four kids and you didn´t find
On a Sunday they will kill the world
And on Monday they will cry and shout
Then on Tuesday they will just try out
What will happen to the burning crowd
On a Sunday they will kill the world
And on Monday they will cry and shout
Then on Tuesday they will just try out
What will happen to the burning crowd
And you will think of me
But I´m gone and then I´ll see
In the sky for me sits one, too
What they did, some people like you
On a Sunday they will kill the world
And on Monday they will cry and shout
Then on Tuesday they will just try out
What will happen to the burning crowd EKSEPTION – On Sunday they will kill the world (1970) w. lyrics
DRACONIAN with Jim Morrison on vocals…!!!
Thanks for lyrics/vid work 🙂
The information is not correct Ekseption toured until november 2003 in a changing setting but still with Rick van der Linden ass the keyboardplayer.
Not bad, but i think that Draconian made it theirs.
Rick van der Linden left Ekseption in 1973/4 to form Trace. He then played with Mistral during the late 70's/early 80's, and rejoined Ekseption for short spell during this time as well. During the 80's/90's he did session work, and concentrated on his on/off solo career.
He rejoined again
Enclosed to this song there are pictures from a collection of Ekseption record sleeves, but 'On the Sunday they will kill the world' was on Ekseption 3.
