SCORPIONS FLY TO THE RAINBOW

I LOVE THIS SONG…

Music:
Michael Schenker
Lyrics:
Uli Jon Roth

Life is empty, can´t remember anytime before,
On a plain lit cold December, see it evermore,
Gliding through this life, and another is a child,
and we´re doing games, and losing things,
Always playing gigs.
Somewhere in the sky, where the moon the stars shine bright,
Where the sun is shining, in the night.
I am in disgrace, yet i see a smiling face,
and i hope you let me, share your place.
I don´t live today.

Rain in the sky , make the world fly,
Into time, beg me your time.
Sun in the sky, make the world fly,
Into time, beg me your time.

Rain in the sky , make the world fly,
Into time, beg me your time.
Sun in the sky, make the world fly,
Into time, beg me your time.

Rain in the sky , make the world fly,
Into time, beg me your time.
Sun in the sky, make the world fly,
Into time, beg me your time.

Well, I lived in magic solitude
Of cloudy-looking mountains
And a lake made out of crystal raindrops …
Roaming through Space tenthousand years ago
I´ve seen the giant city of Atlantis
Sinking to eternal waves of darkness …

Somewhere in the blue distance
Are those long-forgotten trees of yore
A broken violin floating alone in December
Darkness everywhere and nothing more.

Symbol – strange Symbol – Melancholy
Painting torrid colors to a sky of green
Candle breathing one night only
Far away – in chillness – bleak – unseen …

Drifting galley – ghostlike shadow,
Sails rigged to catch and kill the Time…
Echoes wandering down an endless meadow
To call the Thing … Sublime !… SCORPIONS FLY TO THE RAINBOW

  1. Scorpions in this year has the best guitarrist of the World: Uli Jon Roth!!! Nobody is as good as with him: Jimmy Page, Michael Schenker, Ritchie Blackmore, Paul McCartney and Tony Iommy, nobody are as good as Uli!!! m/

  2. One of the greatest songs ever! I have always had a weird guess that the whole second Scorpions album and this song in particular were kind of a tribute to Jimi Hendrix and his piece "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" (listen to that version on the "Crash Landing" LP).

  3. I used the lyrics from this song for a high school poetry assignment. I received an A, and the teacher who was a hippie, wrote “pcp” as the comment. This has always been my favorite album.

  4. God damn it I am disappointed. I first heard Therion cover and loved it. Here, the first part is great but the second part sounds like vocalist is high on drugs. The way he streatches the words is annoying. That's why the mystic theme of the lyrics falls flat. I feel like Therion did it how it supposed to sound like and gave the feeling it supposed to give.
Also I can't belive the end part with "Fly! Fly to the rainbow! Fly away! So far away!" is not here. It was perfect and I can't belive it wasn't in the original.

  5. Listening to it, brings a massive doze of hoplessness, almost suicide-like thoughts. "Everything you love, is out of reach for you, almost in some other universe".
